What I’m writing now…
My forthcoming project is memoir. I have completed a novel-length manuscript that I call The Sense I Was Born With – Breaking the Shield of Shame. The book follows my journey of moving through devastating family and personal struggles to a place of honest self-awareness, empowerment and peace. The reader will see a transitional period of my life where I had to get real with myself and drop the pretense of “everything is okay.” The anticipated audience is mainly women, from all economic backgrounds, races and cultures. Women who have experienced abusive relationships, motherless daughters, or those weighted with the shame of sexual molestation. My hope in writing the memoir is that readers will not only see themselves in parts of my story, but that they will recognize their own strength and resiliency and move forward to become the woman they hope to be.
